David Clements Obituary

David William Clements Sr. was born in Whittier and went to the nearer presence of the Lord on June 14, 2024. He died from natural causes two weeks before his 81st birthday. He was the son of Frank and Mildred Clements, who owned property in Yucca Valley since the 1950s, providing hours of exploratory adventure to him as a child.
David was raised in Montebello. He was retired from the U.S. Navy, taking pride in serving as a cryptologist and ending his service at the NSA. He later retired from civil employment with the U.S. government and from ownership of Saddlebred Showcase, serving as a photographer and web master for SaddlebredWeb, a website promoting the American Saddlebred horse.
After moving to Yucca Valley in 2013, David enjoyed switching his lens to desert landscape and wildlife photography and becoming active in the Morongo Basin art scene and receiving numerous awards from area art shows. David was an active member of Desert Hills Presbyterian Church.
David's lifelong hobby was ham radio operation. Over his lifetime, he enjoyed receiving QE cards from around the globe and garnering contest awards in the process.
David will be remembered for his intelligence, kindness, sense of humor and joyful spirit. He is survived by his widow, Kim Karels Clements; his children, Debbie Clements Wolf and husband Aaron, David Clements Jr. and partner Debbie, and Dorie Clements Lim and husband Ben, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his beloved brother Frank Robert Clements and sister-in-law Jan Clements.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 7 at Desert Hills Presbyterian Church.
