Greg Ward Obituary

Greg Ward, age 74, of Highlands, passed away Monday, January 27, 2025.
Greg was born in Atlanta to the late Nathan Duke Ward and Martha Ellis Ward. He graduated from the now closed Headland High School in East Point where he later was active with the school's alumni association.
Graduating in 1972, he went on to attend the University of North Carolina where he was a football letterman and a proud alumni. He then went on to graduate from the Emory University School of Law. Greg was a former member of the State Bar of Georgia.
In addition to being a long time attorney, he was also a real estate developer. One of his proudest accomplishments was playing an instrumental role in the development of Trillium Links and Lakes Club in Cashiers.
Greg was an intelligent business man who liked to show his lighthearted side by telling jokes and making people laugh.
He found joy in putting on the green, casting a fly reel, and watching sports on television. However, his greatest joy in life was his family.
Greg is survived by his son, Lanier Ward (Anna); and two grandchildren, Eli and Emma- all of Lilburn, Georgia.
The family will hold a celebration of life 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the Trillium Serenity Chapel, 214 New Trillium Way, Cashiers, NC 28717. A reception will follow the service.
