Wayne Jewell Obituary

Nampa - Wayne E. Jewell of Nampa passed away on September 25, 2025, at the age of 84.

Wayne was born July 22, 1941, to Glen and Mary (McDonald) Jewell. He was later joined by two brothers, Bob and Tim. He attended Nampa schools and graduated from Nampa High in 1960.

After graduation, he joined the National Guard and did 6 months of basic training in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. After returning home, a family friend helped Wayne get his first job at First Security Bank, where he worked for the next 18 years. He met a girl named Sharon Scheffert. Their first date was on April Fools' Day, and they married that same year on October 9, 1965. They were just a few weeks away from their 60th wedding anniversary when Wayne passed. They welcomed a daughter in 1966, a son in 1970, and a son in 1974. ln 1978, he left the bank and went to work for a local Ford dealership as a finance manager, where he worked for the next 27 years. He enjoyed camping in the trailer on their lot in Cascade and riding dirt bikes on trails with family. He particularly enjoyed riding up to a special place they called "The Rock".

He is survived by his wife Sharon, daughter Lisa (Jason) Weil, and son Steve (Summer) Jewell, and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Jay.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 13th at 1:00 p.m. Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Avenue South, Nampa, Idaho.
