Freda Bowman Obituary

Caldwell - Freda Loraine Peabody Bowman (Nanny), 90, gained her angel wings on July 21st, 2025

She was born in Stultz, Missouri and moved with her family to Parma, Id in 1948. She met the love of her life, Earl Bowman, in 1950. After a summer courtship, they traveled to Winnemucca, Nevada with their best friends, Geneva and Coye Bryan. On September 8th, 1950, the two couples were wed and were witnesses to each others marriages.

Freda enjoyed being a part of the Parma community and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Job's Daughters. She also worked for many years as a cook in Roswell and Parma Schools. Upon her retirement, she volunteered at the Lions Club luncheons and the Parma Senior Center, cooking and delivering meals. Nanny loved spending time with her family, having get-togethers in the backyard, attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities, canning and sharing yummy homemade goodies with others. There were many great adventures at the Old Donnelly Cabin and home gatherings including the infamous Christmas Eve Party where her quilts, crocheted hats, scarves, hot pads and homemade canned goods were always the most cherished gifts.

Freda is survived by brother, Dean (Ruth) Peabody, sister-in-law, Alice Brook, three of her four children, Von (Barb) Bowman, Bud (Lisa) Bowman, Candy (Dan) Silveria, son-in-law, Jack Crawford, 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Betty Bryan and Faye Smith, brothers, Gene Fulk and Lee Brook, her loving husband of 64 years, Earl Bowman, daughter, Pamela Crawford, and a grandson, Cody Crawford.

A host of Angels, aka caregivers, stood at the ready to assist Nanny in her final days. The world Is a much kinder place thanks to all those who show up for work and serve the needs of others. Services will be held at Kirkpatrick Memorial Church in Parma, Idaho on August, 7th 2025 At 11:00 AM. A dinner will follow at Western Labs, 211 US-95, Parma, ID. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parma Senior Citizens Center, 410 N. 8th St. Parma, Id 83660 or KMCC Women's Association, P.O. Box 789, Parma, ID 83660.
