Kevin Davis Obituary

Kevin Lee Davis, 39, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Friday, June 20, 2025, after a courageous and brief battle with ALS. Born in Jonesboro on November 1, 1985, Kevin lived a life full of creativity, kindness, and quiet strength. A 2004 graduate of Nettleton High School, Kevin was a proud member of one of Arkansas's first State Champion High School Bowling teams. He later attended Arkansas State University and remained a lifelong learner with a passion for technology, gaming, and storytelling. Kevin was a member of Nettleton Baptist Church. He enjoyed bowling, building computers, playing video and board games, and cooking for his loved ones. A true animal lover, Kevin had a special bond with his pets, including his late cat Finley and loyal dog Copper. He was especially proud of being a Dungeon Master for his Dungeons and Dragons group, where his imagination and leadership brought people together and brought stories to life. Above all, Kevin cherished being a father. His daughter Lyla was the light of his life, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in her. Kevin was preceded in death by his grandmother, Freida Rambo; grandfather, Clay Knight; nephew, Caden Boling; his cat, Finley; and his faithful dog, Copper. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Lyla Davis of Jonesboro; mother, Judy Knight (Byron) of Jonesboro; sisters, Jennifer Huggins (Curtis) and Michelle Davis, both of Jonesboro; stepbrothers, Keith Knight (Tracy) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Justin Knight (Casey) of Blytheville; stepsister, Kim Havner (Tommy) of Jonesboro; grandparents, Odus Rambo and Eula Davis; and his dog, Majyk. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends who will deeply miss him. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, June 28 at 2:00 p.m., also at Emerson Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Trinity Cemetery in Bono. Bret King, Justin Knight, Jake Raby, Steven Bernard, Tommy Havner, and Nate Kent will serve as pallbearers. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of St. Bernards ICU and St. Bernards Hospice for their compassionate care during Kevin's illness and final days.
