Maria Anna Addabbo (Pantaleo), 83, of Niantic, CT, died following a prolonged illness on January 30, 2025.
She was born in Manchester, CT, in 1941 to Emil and Finesia (Massaro) Pantaleo. She married Luca Addabbo in 1962. Maria graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor's Degree in Education.
Together with her husband they raised three sons, Vito, Emil and Daniel on Oak Street. A proud Italian-American family, they had a strong work ethic. Starting with very little, they developed Luca's Tailor Shop and Laundromat into a thriving business. They also had numerous properties in the Oak and Spruce Street neighborhoods that were renovated and maintained by the family. She was an Enrolled Agent and had several businesses of her own.
Maria is preceded in death by her parents and son Emil Addabbo, and is survived by husband Luca, son Vito and wife Kristen, son Daniel and wife Lisa, grandchildren Alexandra Wertheim and husband Daniel, Luca and Vincenzo and great-granddaughter Avery Wertheim.
Calling hours will be held at John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center Street in Manchester on Thursday, February 6th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 7th at 10:00 a.m. at St James Catholic Church, 896 Main Street with burial to follow at St. James Cemetery, 368 Broad Street, Manchester.
