Teresa (Songailo) White
Teresa (Songailo) White, 94, loving wife to the late Frank R. White, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025, in Pasadena, CA. She was born on May 16, 1931, in Rockville, and lived most of her life in Vernon until moving to Pasadena, California, in 2023 to be closer to her son, John, and his family. She is the youngest child to the late Ignace and Anna (Beben) Songailo. She was predeceased by all her siblings; Edward Songailo, Genevieve Sawicki, Roman Songailo, Helen Belanger Stein, Edwin Songailo and Celia Bateman.
She is survived by her loving children, David White (Angela) of Summerville, SC, John White (Leslie) of Pasadena, CA, and her stepson, Robert White (Genevieve) of Vernon, CT, and was predeceased by her stepson, Ronald White. She was a beloved Grammy and Nana to her grandchildren; Lauren White of Champaign, IL, Jordan White of Irvine, CA, Stephanie Curtiss (Colton) of Summerville, SC, and step-grandchildren, Melissa Wolpert (Duke) of Coventry, CT and Michelle Hill (Gary Sojka) of Broad Brook, CT. She leaves four step-great-grandchildren, Timothy Wolpert, Connor Wolpert, Allison Hill and Ashley Hill. Also, she leaves many beloved nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great nephews and their families.
Teresa and her husband Frank loved to entertain family and friends at their home, especially summer parties in their backyard. They also enjoyed visiting local beaches and looked forward to their trips to Cape Cod with their family over the years. Teresa was an excellent cook, baker, gardener and crafter enjoying time knitting, crocheting, antiquing and baking for family and friends. Her faith was also very important to her. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Bernard and St. Joseph Churches in Rockville. While in California for the past couple of years, Teresa enjoyed spending time with her son John and his family, especially Milo the family Goldendoodle. Teresa touched so many lives and will be greatly missed; her family was her greatest joy.
Friends and family may call on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 10-11 a.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd. (Rte 83), in Vernon, CT, with a prayer service to begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, Rockville, CT.
