Ronald Lewis Obituary

Ronald Lewis

July 13, 1943 - April 1, 2025

Ronald "Ron" W. Lewis, age 81, of Trout Creek, Michigan and former resident of Racine, Wisconsin passed on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 in Munising, Michigan. He was born in Racine on July 13, 1943 to the late Robert and Irene (Beyer) Lewis. Ron grew up in Racine and graduated from Lutheran High School where he played football and ran track for the Crusaders. He entered into the United States Army in 1965 and was a member of the 68th Armor Battalion stationed in Germany working on tanks. Ron was honorably discharged in 1967 as a SP5 (T) and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He began working at J.I. Case in the foundry making tractors until his retirement in 1998. Ron was a member of the UAW in Racine. He was married to Lillian (Miilu) Klein for 23 years. Raised 3 sons Travis, Troy and Trevor on working hard and using the tools you have at the moment. Ron always had an impressive vegetable and fruit garden over the years.

After retirement, Ron moved to the U.P. where he continued to enjoy hunting, fishing, bird watching and being a Packer Fan. He worked as a bartender at U.P. Chuck's Bar in Kenton where he enjoyed socializing with those who came through the door. Ron loved spending time with his family, playing cribbage and watching Westerns, especially John Wayne movies. He passed his love of hunting, fishing and camping along to his sons and then grandsons, which made him very happy. Ron was a kind soul and had a smile on his face till the very end.

Ron is survived by his sons Travis (Keyra) Lewis of Crystal Falls, MI, Troy (Patty) Lewis of New Holstien, WI, and Trevor Lewis of Racine; grandsons Dale, Hunter, and Roman; siblings twin brother Rich (Rosemary) Lewis, Teri Rawley, George (Sandy) Giese, Jr., and Maureen (Al) Kroes; brother-in-law Ronnie Eisel and Frank Sedaska; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Lewis; mother and step-father Irene and George Giese; siblings Robert Lewis, Jr., Carol Eisel, JoAnn Sedaska, and Brian Giese.

Military Honors will be performed at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.

I did not know Ronald Lewis, but I know that his son, Trevor, held him in high esteem and loved him greatly. That love has continued down the generations and now Trevor is creating that kind of relationship with his son, Roman. That´s a beautiful legacy from his father.
