Church Point, LA: Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, May 23, 2025 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for Delton J. "Mr. Thib" Thibodeaux, 83. Mr. Thibodeaux, a long-time resident of Church Point, died Tuesday evening, May 20 at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. Fr. Brian Harrington, Pastor of the Church, will conduct the Services with Interment immediately following in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery adjacent to the Church. Survivors include a son, Damien "Thib" Thibodeaux of Church Point; his grandchildren: Jarachin "Jerry" Guidry and wife Amanda and Shelbi Wheeler and husband Olanda "Big O"-all of Church Point and Kateri Bertrand and husband Damian of Branch, LA; his great-grandchildren: Ty and Blaise Guidry, Emma Rozas and husband Brody, Drake, Drewe and Kassidee Bertrand and Jedediah, Declan and Zaine-Thomas Wheeler; a great-great-grandchild, Ivy Rozas; a sister, Elma Jane Courville of Austin, TX and a son-in-law and sister-in-law, Keevin Guidry and Emmanine Meche of Church Point. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verlie Thibodeaux; his parents, Adam and Orellia MatteThibodeaux; a daughter, Deanna Guidry; a son, Keith Thibodeaux; his brothers, Darcy, Howard and Ronnie Thibodeaux and a brother-in-law, Eurell Meche. Visitation will be held at Guidry Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Thursday, May 22 and continue from 8:00 AM Friday until the time of Services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Thursday by Fr. Harrington. Pallbearers will be Blaise Guidry, Drake and Drewe Bertrand, Olanda Wheeler, Wesley Leitz and Edmund Hanks. A market manager at Rod's Grocery and Piggly Wiggly of Church Point for a number of years; Mr. Thibodeaux was a loving husband, father and grandfather and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
