Robert Lehmann Obituary

Robert (Bob) Lehmann of Lee's Summit, Missouri passed away on January 5, 2025, at the age of 85 after a 4-year battle with dementia.

Bob was born on March 11, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York. He moved to Kansas City in 1949. He attended Central High School and the University of Missouri, Kansas City. He spent his career in the banking business. He met the love of his life, Mary while they both worked at Home Savings and Loan.. He retired from UMB Bank in 2011 after 21 years of service. He was a loyal blood donor and donated every 8 weeks. The Community Blood Center came to his retirement party and awarded him with a plaque for his service. His work ethic was strong. He often spent his vacations from the bank working with his sister, Marcia at the Carmel Valley Tennis Camp kitchen. He also served in the Army Reserves.

He and Mary were married in 1965 and would of celebrated 60 years of marriage this year. They raised their two daughters, Sarah and Betsy, in the St. Regis Parish in south Kansas City. He was a wonderful, hard working father. Bob converted to Catholicism in 2012 but was a devoted church goer long before that. Bob was a very frugal man but after his retirement he enjoyed taking his family on cruises and vacations. He never met a stranger and loved to chat with everyone he met. He was a proud grandpa and enjoyed attending his grandkid's various activities.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Marjorie. He is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters Sarah and Betsy; grandchildren Ellie (Matt), Thomas (Katelyn), Mary and Clara and a great grandson due this April; his loving sister Marcia and her children, Mark (Liz) and Monica (Glenn) and her grandchildren; and his son-in-law Andy.

Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. with the funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. on February 28 at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Seasons Memory Care in Kansas City, Missouri.

I often read the KC Star online and even though it has been many years, I recognized Bob´s smiling photo right away. Good memories from Stark Steet.......I was telling someone recently about our evening out with Bill Haley and the Comets! My sympathies to you and your girls.

I am sorry to hear of Bob´s passing. He loved his wife Mary, daughters, and grandchildren. Bob was very intelligent, with a great sense of humor. I had the fortune of getting to know him, My deepest sympathy to the entire family.
