Helen Gohm Obituary

Beloved mother and grandmother passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012 at St. Francis Home. Age 93 years. The daughter of the late Stanley and Sophie (Stobas) Marczak, Helen was born September 7, 1919 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Robert A. Gohm on January 11, 1947. He predeceased her February 26, 1994. Helen was employed at Eaton Manufacturing for nine years. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and its Altar Society, the League of Catholic Women, the Catholic Study Club, St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary and Germania Town & Country Club. She belonged to several card clubs and loved to play Bridge. But most of all, Helen loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Surviving are two sons and one daughter, Rev. Robert S. Gohm, Bay City; Wayne A. Gohm, Saginaw; Dr. Janice Gohm Webster, Ph.D., and her husband, Dr. Cameron Webster, Ph.D., Milton, Vermont; two grandchildren, Grayson and Kayla Gohm Webster; a sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Rosemary and Carl Gohm and James Bell; several nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, Walter and Stanley Marczak and Bernice Staley. Helen's family would like to extend their appreciation to St. Francis Home and Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care. Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2012 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1008 S. Wenona St., Bay City. Helen's son, Rev. Robert S. Gohm and Rev. James G. Heller will officiate. Interment will be in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday, December 16, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bay City on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service, led by Rev. Fr. James Heller, will take place 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
