Yvonne Lynn (Itterman) Wilde passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025 at the Alcester Care and Rehab Center in Alcester, SD.
On April 28, 1958, Yvonne was born into the family of Rev. Bert and Evelyn Itterman in Northfield, MN, joining brothers Bryon and Bruce with her sister, Diane, coming along a few years later. As a child, Yvonne lived in many different states in the Midwest with George, IA being the place where she graduated high school. Later, she went for more education at Oak Hills Bible Institute in Bemidji, MN. It was there while serving in the AWANA ministry that she met Tim Wilde. In time, Tim became her husband when they married on June 25, 1983 in
Sioux Falls, SD. Soon after they moved to the West Coast where Tim was serving in the US Navy. Eventually, Tim and Yvonne returned to Sioux Falls along with their three boys, Dan, Chris and Tim Jr.. Sioux Falls remained her home until various health issues brought on a move to the Alcester Care and Rehab Center where Yvonne found a good home with excellent care.
Most central to Yvonne's life was her faith in Jesus. She trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior as a child and this was her enduring firm foundation. Yvonne enjoyed being involved in Bible studies, playing piano for church services and in her later years, she was especially faithful to pray for her family, including children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews. While Yvonne was involved in several churches over her lifetime, in recent years she loved going to Southtown Baptist Church when possible and spending time with her friends from both Southtown and Restoration Church.
Yvonne does not have a long list of awards and accomplishments but perhaps her greatest quality is that she moved through a life full of serious challenges and obstacles but was not bitter. As a child, she had a serious stuttering issue but with lots of determination and speech therapy she overcame it. She battled mental health issues, receiving treatments over the years that often brought a host of undesired side effects. Over the past two decades, she also had many physical challenges limiting her mobility and interaction with others. Requiring extra support, Yvonne lived in an assisted living or full care facility for the last 15+ years but would often comment on having a nice window to look out, the activities she could take part in or the particular food she enjoyed. Yvonne loved to send cards for special occasions to family and friends and even thank you cards to those who would visit the Care Center providing music for the residents. In some ways, her world was small and she wasn't always positive but she found contentment and ways to serve.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, Bert A and Evelyn Itterman and her brother, Bruce Itterman. She is survived by her husband, Tim; her sons Daniel, Christopher (Kim) and Timothy Jr. (Brittney); 3 grandchildren, her siblings, Bryon (Myrna) Itterman and Diane (Robert) Pippenger.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 3, at 1:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home in
Sioux Falls, SD.
