Robert A. Holst, Sr.

December 4, 1946 - February 2, 2025

Robert A. Holst, Sr., 78 years old of Trevor, Wis., passed away peacefully, Sunday February 2, 2025, at Aurora Medical Center, Kenosha, Wis. He was born December 4, 1946, in Libertyville, Ill., the son of the late George and Lenora (nee Foote) Holst, living in Long Grove, Ill. before settling on the family farm in Trevor, Wis. in 1959. Bob and his family have worked on the farm alongside one another ever since. Bob was an avid sports fan (didn't matter which sport!), he played baseball and bowled as a younger man and enjoyed watching all of his grandchildren's sporting events. On January 7, 1975, Bob married Donna Homan in Kenosha, WI, and she preceded him in death on January 31, 2011. On May 3, 2014, Bob married Ceanna Waitr (nee Portalski) on the family farm.

Survivors include his wife, Ceanna; two children, Robert Holst Jr. of Gurnee, IL and Becky Holst of Trevor, WI; six grandchildren, Andy, Elijah, Noah, Naomi, Joshua, and Alex; a great-grandson Carson; four siblings: Nancy Waddle of Florida, Lorraine Maurath of Florida, George (Sandy) Holst of Trevor, WI and Richard (Amy) Holst of Salem, WI; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and first wife, Donna, Bob was preceded in death by siblings, Herbert, Ruthe Goodsell, Dora Wrobel, Louise Maddox, Lillian Griffin, Betty Halle, and Dolores McHugh.

Visitation will be held from 4pm until 8pm Friday February 7, 2025, at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) Antioch, IL 60002. Funeral Services will be held 10am Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Wilmot Cemetery, Wilmot, Wis. In honor of Bob's love of sports, wearing sports apparel is recommended.
