Geraldine A. Frei

Geraldine "Geri" A. Frei, 90, of Camp Douglas, died Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the Serenity House. She was born on March 1, 1935, to Ben and Maude (Russell) Eisfeldt in the Town of Cutler. Geri was baptized in the New Lisbon Baptist Church, because Bethel Baptist didn't have a baptismal font at the time. She was a member of the Necedah High School Graduating Class of 1952 and was the Valedictorian of her class. She was united in marriage to Douglas J. Frei on September 2, 1952, at Bethel Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on February 20, 2013. Together they travelled throughout the United States on their motorcycle, enjoying the beautiful countryside. They took trips to California, Maine, and New York. The motorcycle trips to Alaska were some of the most memorable. Geri worked for USPFO for Wisconsin as a transportation specialist for over 26 1/2 years until her retirement on December 31, 1994. Geri had a strong faith and was a lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church and played organ for 40 years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. Spending time with family together was the most precious to her.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Sandee), of Camp Douglas, Karen Murray, of Holmen, Alan (Connie), of Cameron, and Theresa Frei, of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Emilee Calkins, Gerrad (Stacy) Frei, Rachel (significant other, Eugene) Murray, Douglas (Stephanie) Murray, Ilabeth Frei, Christopher (significant other, Jules) Parrish; great-grandchildren, Elias, Jack and Maggie Calkins, Roman and Caedus Melbo, Tyler and Travis Murray; sisters-in-law, Joanne Jones and Edna (Elmer) Georgeson. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas; a grandson, Clayton Frei; brothers, Gordon Eisfeldt and Kenneth Eisfeldt; sisters, Marvel Miller and Margorie Christenson; brothers-in-law, Lewis Jones and John Frei; and sister-in-law, Patsy Frei.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, 11:30 a.m., at Bethel Baptist Church, N9498 1st Ave., Camp Douglas, Wis. Pastor Ian Fennell will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Township of Byron.
