Mark Giebeig Obituary

Mark Edward Giebeig, 69, of Lake City, Florida, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at HCA Florida Lake City Hospital.
Born in Lake City on March 22, 1956, Mark was the son of the late Paul Sparks Giebeig, Jr., and Elizabeth "Betty" Sipos Giebeig. He was a proud graduate of Columbia High School in 1974, where he played football and formed lifelong friendships. He also remained a devoted Florida Gators fan.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Christie Giebeig, and their daughter, Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Giebeig, both of Lake City. He is also survived by his uncle, Tom Sipos of Shalimar, FL; aunt, Joanne Sipos Patton of Dadeville, AL; brothers, P. Sparks Giebeig III of Alachua, FL, and Richard Giebeig of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Ann Giebeig Cissell of Charleston, SC; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Mark's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at First Methodist Church of Lake City, 973 S Marion Ave, Lake City, FL 32025. A reception will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to First United Methodist Church of Lake City in Mark's memory.
