Michael King Obituary

July 10, 1943 - July 20, 2025 Born on July 10, 1943, to the late Estelle and Morris (Morry) P. King, Michael passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 20 at the age of 82 and in the presence of his loving wife Lenore.
Michael graduated from UCLA in 1965, earning a BA in English Literature. He then graduated from Loyola Law School in 1968 earning a JD. After his admission to the California State Bar Association he began his career at the Los Angeles County's Office of The District Attorney, continuing on to defense litigation at Wyman Bautzer Rothman and Kuchel. From there, Michael formed a law partnership where he practiced until his retirement in 2019. Throughout his entire career Michael maintained, and was lauded for, the highest ethical standards.
However, Michael was most proud, and greatly respected for, his relationship with his family as a husband for over fifty years to his beloved wife Lenore, as father to his four loving children - Stacee King Hollman (Rob) and Benjamin King (Laura) from his previous marriage to Randee Devlin; and, Janice Reches and Jay Brown (Michal) - as a grandfather to his eight loving grandchildren - Natan Reches (Sara), Gabriel Reches, Morgan King, Emerson King, Eugene Hollman, David Brown, Chloe Hollman and Ester Brown - his great grandson Levi Michael Reches. He was a beloved big brother to Barry P. King (Ronna), uncle to Barry's four daughters and great uncle to their children.
Michael's wife, family, immediate and extended, and dear friends were the absolute light of his life and the feeling is truly mutual. Second only to his family and friends was his love for UCLA football, basketball and his Phi Sigma Delta fraternity brothers. Michael loved music and was a highly talented pianist who loved to practice daily. He was also a passionate supporter and regular attendee of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Hollywood Bowl every summer for over 50 years. And let's not forget his lovingly curated collection of Cuban cigars and fine bourbon.
Michael's presence in this world is and will be greatly missed. His impact on everyone he met and everything he touched was immensely positive, rewarding and uplifting.
May Michael rest in peace and may his memory be a blessing.
Michael was laid to rest at Mount Sinai Hollywood Hills this past Thursday, July 24, and the service can be viewed here: https://mountsinaiparks.keeper.memorial/MichaelKing24041
