Moo-Zung Lee Obituary

Moo-Zung Lee, a cherished father, devoted husband, and talented engineer passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on May 28, 2025, in West Hills, California. Born on January 11, 1932, in Taichung, Taiwan, Moo-Zung embarked on a journey that would lead him halfway around the world to touch the lives of many with his dedication and intellect.

Moo-Zung pursued higher studies at National Taiwan University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, and was the first in his family to go to college. His quest for knowledge and unwavering perseverance led him to the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where he completed his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics. His academic accomplishments set the stage for a successful career that included significant roles at Gilbert Associates and Litton Industries, where he was known for his meticulous work, innovative contributions, and leadership skills.

Outside of his professional life, Moo-Zung was an avid tennis player with a passion for a variety of interests that kept him active and engaged with his community and friends. His love for life was apparent in everything he pursued.

Moo-Zung is pre-deceased by his first wife Yui-Mei, who passed away in 1976, leaving him to raise two boys as a single parent. He later remarried and is survived by his second wife Shieh-Tzu. His legacy is carried on by his loving family, including his sons, John Tseng-Chung Lee and Ken You-Chieh Lee; daughters-in-law, Shawna and Nina; and grandchildren, Ryan, Catherine, Anna, Lauren, Devin, and Mary Beth. He was a dedicated father and husband, whose guidance and love shaped the lives of his children and grandchildren.

A private service to honor Moo-Zung's life was held on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, reflecting his deep connection to his roots in Taiwan and his peaceful demeanor. His life was a testament to the values of hard work, family, and the pursuit of personal passions. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and integrity.
