Ronald Bluemel Obituary

Ronald Bluemel

September 20, 1956 - July 6, 2025

Ronald "Ron" J. Bluemel, age 68, of Strum, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, peacefully at his home.

Ron was born September 20, 1956, to Ronald E. and Helen (Lagowski) Bluemel in Elmhurst, Illinois. He grew up in Winfield, Illinois and graduated from Wheaton North High School.

On January 13, 1979, during the historic Chicago blizzard, Ron married the love of his life, Pat. The couple moved to Wisconsin in 1979, where they built a life rooted in family and hard work. Ron was a skilled carpenter by trade and eventually found his professional home with Hoeft Builders. He loved his work and took great pride in it, retiring as a Senior Superintendent after more than 25 years with the company.

Ron had a deep passion for the outdoors. Hunting and fishing were more than just hobbies to him-they were a way of life. He always seemed to know where the fish were biting, and anyone lucky enough to be by his side knew the excitement of hearing him shout, "Fish on!" Whether casting a line into a quiet lake or sitting patiently in the woods during hunting season, Ron was truly in his element. These moments brought him peace, joy, and a profound connection to the natural world. He shared that love freely, creating lasting memories with family and friends, and passing down the stories, traditions, and skills that made time outdoors so meaningful. His love of adventure took him to many beautiful places to hunt and fish, including Alaska, British Columbia, Newfoundland, and throughout Canada and the United States.

In addition to his love for the great outdoors, Ron enjoyed beekeeping, tending to his garden, and cheering on his beloved Green Bay Packers-he never missed a game. Whether he was working with his hands, watching the bees, or relaxing with football on a Sunday afternoon, Ron lived with quiet joy and deep appreciation for the simple, meaningful things in life. Above all, he'll be remembered for his steady presence, his generous heart, and his ability to talk you into "just one more cast" before heading home.

He is survived by his wife, Pat; daughter, Shannon; granddaughters, Lara and Ayla Bluemel; mother, Helen Bluemel; brothers, Steve (Jeanette) Bluemel and Rick (Vicki) Bluemel; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (April) Muilenburg, Mary (Joseph) Murphy, Carol (Timothy) McAdams, and John (Kim) Muilenburg; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his son, Michael; father, Ronald E. Bluemel; father and mother-in-law, Calvin and Irene Muilenburg.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Evergreen Funeral Home (off Golf Road one block east of Hwy 93). Private service for the family will follow. Evergreen Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
