Alan Lambert Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 14, 2025.
ALAN LAMBERT

Just before Christmas, Alan Lambert, a long-time resident of Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania, succumbed to the ravages of Dementia. At the time of his death, he was living close to his beloved daughter Claire Rutkowski and his grandchildren Elizabeth and Maddox in a nursing home in Huntley, Illinois.

He also has a dear son, Jonathon, who recently moved from Pittsburgh to North Carolina.

Alan was utterly devoted to his wife of more than six decades, Suzette, who died two years before him of a similar affliction.

Alan was born and brought up in Sheffield, England, where he was educated as a mining engineer. His company moved him to Canada in the late 1960's and soon after to Chicago. He moved to Pittsburgh in the early 1970's where he worked extensively in coal preparation and was responsible for the installation and operation of many coal preparation plants in the USA and around the world. He was very good at his skill.

Alan was an outstanding skier, having learned his techniques in the Austrian Alps and Canadian Rockies. His friends at the Library Sportsman's Club admired his skills as a Skeet shooter. He had many successes there in this sport. He and Suzette were very good ballroom dancers, beginning at the Sheffield City Hall ballroom in 1957!

Alan was a gentle man and a gentleman to be admired. Our existence benefitted from his presence in it. We should all aspire to this accolade.

My dear friend. I am sad that you are not in this world anymore, however, I know you are in a better place. I do and will always remember the times we shared. Skeet shooting and hanging out. Rest easy my friend and God Bless.

Damn good man and a damn good Skeet shooter. They don't make them like this anymore. RIP my friend.
