Carmen Kupfer Obituary

Carmen G. Kupfer, a resilient soul, passed away on August 4, 2025, at the age of 78. Born in Schwabisch Gmund, Germany on April 3, 1947. Carmen, later in retirement, became a cherished resident of The Woodlands, Texas.



Carmen attended Central Catholic High School, where she formed the foundation for a successful business career. She dedicated her professional life to the field of commercial insurance, in both Sales and Account Executive roles in Houston, Chicago and San Antonio.



On August 26, 1967, Carmen married John L. Kupfer, with whom she shared a life filled with love and companionship.



Following retirement, Her and John traveled extensively to over 40 Countries both in Eastern and Western Europe as well as Alaska and Australia. Carmen had a passion for Texas Holdem poker, puzzles, and designing floral decorations. She also enjoyed collecting and displaying seashells in her home, a hobby that brought her great joy and beauty to the home she raised her children in.



Her community involvement was evident through her social memberships at Windsor Lakes and The Woodlands Country Club, where she formed many lasting friendships.



Her fondest joy was enjoying time with her grandchildren watching them grow into individual adults.

A funeral service in honor of Carmen will be held at Forest Park the Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery, located at 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, TX 77384, on August 23, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A private committal service will follow.



She is preceded in death by her mother; Carmen O'Brien, father; Robert O'Brien, and brother; Karl O'Brien.



She is survived by her husband; John L. Kupfer Jr., son; Kevin Kupfer and his wife Cindy, and daughter; Kelly Raney. Grandchildren; Jacob Kupfer, Braden Kupfer, Owen Kupfer, Wyatt Kupfer, Dylan Raney, and Brooke Raney.



In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to breast cancer research foundation in honor of Carmen's victorious fight against cancer.
