Charles Kamradt Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 6, 2025.
Charles Fred "Corky" Kamradt, 92, of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away on February 1, 2022, in Boulder City, Nevada.

He was born on December 13, 1929, to Otto and Helen (Beard) Kamradt in Petersburg, Texas. Corky graduated from Grady, New Mexico High School in 1947, where he played basketball and ran track. Upon graduation, he joined the U.S. Army. When he returned from the Army, he made his home in Clovis, New Mexico. Corky started work in 1950 for The Citizens Bank of Clovis. He started as a teller and worked his way up through his long and successful career to Vice President, Commercial Lending.

He married Kathryn Marie "Kay" Snellgrove in August 1961. They had two children, Drulene and Curt Kamradt.

Over the years, Corky was part of many community organizations, especially the Clovis Men's Bible Class, and his hobbies were golf and gardening. His wife, Kay, passed away in August 1988. He married again in 1991, to Donna Jennings, for 31 years.

Corky retired in 1994 after 44 years with The Citizens Bank of Clovis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jesse Kamradt and his wife Merle, and his daughter, Drulene, all of Clovis, New Mexico.

Those left to remember him are his wife, Donna, of Henderson, Nevada; his son Curt (Cathy) of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren by Drulene, Angela and Chance; grandchildren by Curt (Cathy), Maggie (Paul) Hickey and Libby Kamradt (fiancée Jonathan Donalson), and great granddaughters, Merritt and Millie Hickey, all of Fort Worth, Texas, as well as nephew, Randy (Pam) Kamradt of Clovis, New Mexico.

Corky always talked very fondly about his youth growing up in Grady, his customers and his coworkers over the years at The Citizens Bank of Clovis, his time spent and many conversations with his brother, Jesse, and his time spent with his many friends and family, especially with his close friends and his son, Curt, on the old 9-hole municipal golf course in Clovis.

Corky's family will always remember his spontaneous laughter, his kind and gentle nature, and his concern and interest in what we had going on in our lives. And, of course, we will always remember his love of desserts!

We miss him greatly!

Corky was my uncle, a friendly, unassuming man who always had a good attitude and made the world a little brighter for his presence in it. I will always miss him.
