Cindy Hedgepeth Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 28, 2024.
Cindy Kay Hedgepeth, aged 61, passed away on August 27, 2024, in Bean Station, Tennessee. Born on September 27, 1962, in Tampa, Florida, she was a beloved and cherished member of her family.

Cindy dedicated her professional life to human resources at Coca Cola, Home Depot, and Shutterfly. Her career was marked by her professionalism and expertise.

Outside of her professional life, Cindy had a passion for cross-stitch, which she pursued with great skill and patience. She was also an avid viewer of Live PD/On Patrol Live and various cooking shows, a testament to her wide range of interests and love for engaging storytelling. Cindy's hobbies provided her with much joy and relaxation, and they were a significant part of her life. She loved quoting movies and had the uncanny ability to quote them after only one viewing. Some of her favorites were "Deadpool," "Dr. Strange," "Guardians of the Galaxy," "Avatar," "Rocky Horror Picture Show," "Halloween" and any other horror flick. Cindy was unbeatable when playing music trivia, and specialized in 80s bands.

Cindy is survived by her spouse, Dale Lybrook, and her beloved fur-baby, Roxie. She also leaves behind her children, Michael (and Michelle) Lybrook, Jennifer Lybrook, and Amanda Lybrook, as well as her grandchildren Jason Brown, Cheyanna, Alex, and Kolton Lybrook, Kaitlyn (and Makiah) Williams, Kyleigh (and Hunter) Munsey, Gage Dotson, Luke, Drew, Evan, Gabe, and Maya Monize. She was a proud great-grandmother to Bryleigh, LaineyJo, and Lakelyn and looked forward to meeting Cheyanna's daughter who is expected in November of this year. Cindy was a special part of her cousin Teresa (and Kenny) Rasp's life. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins will also keep her memory close to their hearts. Her adored friend, Aaron Cutler, always brought a smile to her face. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Barbara (Ringo) Hedgepeth.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Cindy's memory can be made to St. Jude’s or The Shriner's Children's Hospital, organizations that were close to her heart due to their commitment to the health and well-being of children.

Cindy's kindness, generosity, and vibrant spirit touched many lives, and she will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. In the words of Deadpool, "Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage....or indigestion. I always forget which."

Cindy was a special part of our life. Her spirit and optimism goes above and beyond. I hope one day I have that strength. Prayers to all family and especially Dale.

Cindy was such a shining light. Even though she was not a part of my every day life, she was always on my mind. She is so loved and will be so missed.

I have known Cindy for a very long time. We worked closely together at both Home Depot and Coca-Cola. She was a gem. We used to play cards daily at lunch and just gossip about everything. She had a heart of gold. I missed our monthly girls lunches or dinners when she moved from FL to TN but when we would get back together it was like no time has passed between. I´m so sad to hear of her passing and will miss her funny personality. RIP my friend.

The world lost an absolutely amazing human being.

Cindy was more than a friend to many, including myself. She was family. She was the Thing 1 to my Thing 2 (IYKYK). Cindy, my life is better for having known you, and for having shared so many wonderful times with you. It´s hard to believe that we met more than 20 years ago and have watched each other´s lives grow and change, despite the distance, for all these years. I will miss you and your quirky humor forever.

May your light continue to shine in all of our lives and may everyone find some comfort knowing you are now reunited with your mom & dad. Rest in peace my dear friend.

My goodness, I loved this woman! From the moment she walked in the doors of Coca-Cola, we clicked and became great friends! She could make me laugh like nobody else and her wit was so quick and so dry and she always "got it". Even through her moments of sadness and hardship, she always had a smile on her face and encouragement in her heart and in her words. We have lost a very special person, but I know she will find many ways to return. I´ll be looking for her in even the tiniest cracks of life. Thank you, Cindy, for your beautiful friendship, for the love you gifted me with, and the many insightful and thought provoking conversations we shared together. You have always meant the world to me and you will not be forgotten, my friend! I love you!

To always smile. Even when it hurt or we weren't in the mood. For just those few minutes, it was going to be OK.

The way she would send a simple emoji message and I would know that she loved me as a friend.

While watching a TV show called LivePD a suspect yelled out the phrase "10 degrees!" We'd throw that line out in random posts. She never failed to make me laugh every time.

My first memory of Cindy was a discussion about a show that we were both big fans of at the time. Her snappy comebacks were always on point.
