Clara Gulbronson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 4, 2025.
Clara "Buttons" Gulbronson, a woman whose warmth, strength, and compassion left a lasting impression on all who knew her, was born on April 4, 1958, at Cumberland Hospital in Cumberland, Maryland. Her journey through life was filled with unwavering love, selfless service, and the kind of beauty that radiated from the inside out.

Buttons was the heart of her family - a devoted wife to her husband of fifty one years, Steven Gulbronson Sr., and a fiercely loving mother to her two sons, Steve Gulbronson Jr. (Trinetta) of York, PA and Adam Gulbronson (Megan) of Martinsburg, WV. She wore the titles of wife and mother with pride, considering them her greatest joys and life's highest calling. Her love extended fully to her cherished grandsons, Joshua and Shawn Gulbronson, who brought her boundless pride and happiness. Her loving sister Pamela (Keith) of Martinsburg, WV remains to carry on her spirit and memories.

She is preceded in death by her beloved grandmother Clara Largent, her parents Mary and Clifton "Johnny" Allen, her maternal uncle Douglas "Dougie" Largent, and her treasured aunt Patricia "Peachy" Largent - each of whom helped shape the caring, strong woman she became.

Throughout her life, Buttons touched many with her gentle nature and open heart. Whether as a team mom for six unforgettable years at the Elsmere Babe Ruth League in Wilmington, Delaware, a hardworking waitress, or a homemaker, she gave freely of herself - always with grace and sincerity. She brought people together, cared deeply, and made even the simplest moments feel like home.

To know Buttons was to be loved by her. Her soul was gentle and pure, her smile welcoming, and her laugh infectious. She believed in second chances, in doing the right thing, and in showing up for the people she loved.

She will be remembered not just in words, but in the lives she shaped, the love she gave, and the memories that will be carried forward with every story told, every laugh shared, and every act of kindness done in her name.

Clara became a friend to me while living close by in Newark, Delaware. She and Steve were newly married and staying with Carole and Neil( Clara´s in-laws) We would chat and talk about our lives, West Virginia and our hopes and dreams. She was always sweet, kind and funny. I was happy for her when she moved back to WV, but selfishly sad that she had left. Altho our lives went in different trajectories, she will always have a warm home in my heart. Deepest sympathy and prayers for comfort are sent to Steve, her children and all who knew and loved her. Sharing this comforting Bible verse Romans 8:38-39
