Dawn Marie Baker, 46, of
Rochester, NH passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She had her loving family at her side. Born January 23, 1979, in Biloxi, MS, she was the beloved daughter of John and Heidi (Rawcliffe) Ravenscraft.
Dawn grew up in an Air Force family and traveled all over the world during her formative years. From her birthplace in Mississippi, she lived in Germany, England and South Carolina before settling in her family's homeplace of Hampden, Maine. She always enjoyed being near the water, from early days at her grandmother's camp on Swan Lake in Maine, to family trips to Hilton Head Island, SC and New Smyrna Beach, FL.
Growing up she was cheerleader co-captain at her alma mater Hampden Academy. She was also a dancer and took that passion with her for the rest of her life. Later in life she developed a loved of the music of K-pop band BTS and one of her favorite ways to express herself was by dancing the choreography to their latest song. Her fellow fans, known as the BTS Army, became close friends and a source of joy and support for her especially after her cancer fight began.
For the last ten years Dawn's passion was crafting beautiful handmade artisan soaps. She started her own business, Craft of the Raven, and had a thriving Etsy shop with customers all over the world. Her friends, family and customers admired her artistic creativity and passion for her work and they will greatly miss her creations.
Dawn is survived by the love of her life, husband Benjaman Baker; her parents Heidi and John Ravenscraft; her beloved son Kieran Baker; her siblings Shawn, Sabra, John, and Michelle; mother-in-law Janet Hughes and father -in-law Michael Crawford; siblings-in-law Cori Crawford, Michael Crawford Jr. and Daniel Knerr. She joins her beloved grandmother Morna Rawcliffe who predeceased her.
She is also survived by aunts and uncles Tami and Wayne Campbell, Rudy and Sheridan Rawcliffe, Carla and Danny Lafayette, Jerry and Su Rawcliffe, Jack Rawcliffe and Jackie Rawcliffe. She was much loved by her cousins Jillian, Erin, and Trevor Campbell; MacKenzie, Kimble, Rylee and Davis Rawcliffe; Daniel, Ramsey, Annaliese and Logan Lafayette; Darby Rawcliffe; and Joanna, Charles, and Richard Rawcliffe.
Dawn was truly a shining light in the world and her creative, joyful spirit will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to know and love her. There will be a celebration of life for family and friends at a later date.
