Fern Zimmerman Obituary

ZIMMERMAN, Fern Evelyn, age 96, of Tecumseh, formerly of Davison and Fenton, passed away in Tecumseh. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August, 22, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Rev. William Donahue officiating. Interment at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be 10:00a.m. Monday until time of service at the funeral home. In Lieu of Flowers, contributions may be made to Fenton United Methodist Church or Hospice of Lenawee. Fern was born December 25, 1914 in Wallsburg, Ontario the daughter of the late Jasper and Pearl (Lindsay) Sturgis. She married William Zimmerman on July 4, 1936 in Flint and he preceded her in death on September 10, 1994. Fern moved from Davison to Fenton in 1959. She was a member of Fenton United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star, Davison Chapter #299. In 1996, Fern moved to Brooklyn, Michigan and in 2009 she moved to Tecumseh for her final years, where she could be close to family. Surviving are her son, William and wife, Norma of Clinton; 3 grandchildren, William Zimmerman IV and wife, Sandy of Trenton, Judy Kay Webb of Ashville, NC, Robert Zimmerman and wife, Rhonda of Tipton; 6 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren.
