Gloria Conforth Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 11, 2025.
Gloria Conforth, née Gallant, of New Milford, CT, died on August 2, 2025 at the age of 92. Gloria was born on December 18, 1932 in Lynn, MA. A graduate of Lesley College in Cambridge, MA, she taught Kindergarten through 2nd Grades in Boston and Topsfield, MA and Long Beach, CA, before moving overseas in 1959, to teach the children of U.S. Army families stationed in Germany. There she met her future husband, Dr. Samuel G. Conforth, an officer in the U.S. Army Dental Corps. The two married in 1960, returning to the States the following year to settle down and raise their family in Dr. Conforth's hometown, Glen Rock, NJ. An active member of the Glen Rock community where she lived for nearly 40 years, Gloria worked alongside her husband for 25 years as his assistant in his dental practice on Rock Road. She and her husband had a love of travel, visiting many places around the world before Dr. Conforth's death in 1999. Gloria moved to Washington Depot, CT in 1999, only recently moving to New Milford. She is survived by her daughter Kellie, son Christopher, and grandchild Dante. A gathering of family and friends will be held in the coming months in loving remembrance and celebration of Sam and Gloria.
