Neal Leon Summ, age 62, of Town of Polar, passed away September 17, 2025 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital.
Neal was born on August 2, 1963 in Antigo to Arlan Summ and the late Donna (Pankratz) Summ.
He was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1981.
On December 10, 1983 he was united in marriage to Rose Mary Gallenberg. Together, they enjoyed 41 years of marriage.
Neal owned and operated a dairy farm along with his wife. Due to his diagnosis of ALS, Neal retired early from farming. He enjoyed playing cards with the Gallenberg family, fishing, bowling in the Lutheran League, shooting pool, the Green Bay Packers, wood working and sketching and painting. He had a passion for jacked up Ford trucks. He loved his family dearly and especially treasured time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Rose and father Arlan, Neal is survived by his three children: Jennifer Summ, Wayne (Michelle) Summ, Amanda (Brad) Tatro all of Antigo, sisters: Cindy Summ of Wausau, Sherry (Richard) Skarlupka of Antigo, brother Dale (Lisa) Summ of Antigo, grandchildren: Hunter, Elayna, Devon, Brandon, Breanna, Braden, Jayda and a grandbaby on the way, sisters-in-law: Charlene Bauknecht, Shirley (Larry) Welch, Donna Piatt, Rita (Dave) Kuhr, Carol (Thomas) Selmo, Phyllis (Timothy) Karpf, Nancy (Kirk) Elliott, Mae (Joseph) Walkup, brothers-in-law: Dan (Lila) Gallenberg, James (Paula) Gallenberg, Joseph Gallenberg and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, Neal was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law Martha and Arthur Gallenberg, a sister-in-law Jody Gallenberg, and brothers-in-law: David Bauknecht, Harvey Glenn Piatt and William Gallenberg.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 22 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Polar. Reverend Donald Engebretson will officiate. A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 21 at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Monday from 9:30 AM until the service at the church. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Church Cemetery.
