Hope Jones Obituary

Hope Marie Jones, born on January 5, 1969, in Topeka, Kansas, passed away peacefully on her 56th birthday, January 5, 2025, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.

Hope was raised in Marysville, Kansas, alongside her six siblings: Jim Jones, Robin Gabel, Jean Jones, Joe Jones, Jeremiah Jones, and Jake Jones. She later made Lyndon, Kansas, her home, where she lovingly raised her three children: Rebecca Hannon, Joey Gardner, and Jordan Schmidt.

A dedicated professional, Hope worked at St. Francis Family Medical for nearly two decades. She spent the last three years of her life as an assistant manager for Dollar General. Her colleagues and customers loved her.

Hope had a vibrant personality and a wide array of interests. She enjoyed watching crime and cooking shows and had a passion for gardening that showcased her green thumb. A lover of music, she cherished classic rock bands like Guns N' Roses, The Eagles, and Poison. Her favorite song was "Hotel California" by The Eagles. In her later years, she became a devoted fan of Five Finger Death Punch. Hope also found joy in reading and crocheting but above all else treasured time spent with her family. Her grandchildren-Tatum Gardner, Nash Schmidt, Ava Gardner, and Mya Gardner-were the light of her life. She adored spoiling them and creating cherished memories together.

Hope is survived by her loving husband, Clay Frederick; her three children; four grandchildren; and six siblings.

In accordance with Hope's wishes to help others through science and education, she donated her body to the "Willed Body Program" at KU Medical Center. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date to honor her memory.

Hope's love for family and life will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
