Mary Luna Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 29, 2025.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mary Evelyn Luna.

Mary was born in Miami, Florida where she spent most of her weekends enjoying the beach with her family. She was an animal lover and frequented the zoo and marine park. She fed stray cats and even had special names for each one. She would pet every dog she came in contact with and they all loved her. The owners would comment how there dog doesn't like anyone and YOUR the exception. Mary had a childlike approach to life and because of that people were drawn to her.

Mary moved to Las Vegas in 1967 where she worked at Circus Circus as the gift shop Assistant Manager. She loved going out to the casinos to watch the big headliners, like Elvis, Tom Jones, Wayne Newton, etc... she enjoyed hiking, playing in the snow at Mt. Charleston. Her best vacation was an Alaskan Cruise, where she loved panning for gold and she commented "she had the best sleep ever on the ship!".

She was a driver for a few different Taxi companies and lastly a security guard for many conventions in town. She met many people from around the world and some of them would often want to take a picture with her.

She adored her grandchildren and especially her great grandchildren and was always excited to see them or make them a meal. She touched many lives and had lifelong friends who cared for her lovingly. Her daughter and son will miss her the most and she will be in all of our hearts for eternity.

Mary is preceded in death by her father, Jack Suggs, mother, Della Evelyn Rowe, husband, Mario C Luna, grandson, Brian Caperonis.

She is survived by her daughter, Marion Caperonis, son, Mario Alan Luna, three grandsons, Joseph, Jonathan, Daniel Caperonis and his wife Liming Chen, two great grandsons, Vincent Zheng and Leonardo Caperonis. Other cousins, nieces and nephews too many to list but all as equally important.

A private Celebration of Life for close friends and family will be held near the end of August.

I surely enjoyed the visits we had whenever I would come to visit from Louisiana. She loved telling stories and I enjoyed hearing them. She will definitely be missed. I am very sorry for your loss.
