Michael Reagoso, Jr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 4, 2025.
In Loving Memory of Michael Ralph Reagoso, Jr., October 23, 1936 - June 25, 2025

Michael Ralph Reagoso, Jr., age 88, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of strong family bonds, close friends and unforgettable memories. Mike was born on October 23, 1936, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Michael R. and Mary R. Reagoso (née Scarino) and grew up in Drexel Hill, Pa. Mike obtained his Bachelor of Science in Social Science from St. Joseph's University and several business certifications from institutions including the Wharton School of Business. Mike proudly served in the United State Air Force, retiring in 1966 with the rank of Captain. Mike's sister Carol introduced him to her sorority sister Carol, and they were married in December 1964. Mike and his family resided in West Chester, Pa., for more than 40 years. He had a career in sales that spanned decades, working for IBM, SUN Information Systems and Honeywell and later in life consulting in Information Technology.

The family spent summers on the Chesapeake Bay aboard their boat, the Serendipity, where they made innumerable friends, created incredible memories, had many adventures and enjoyed the beauty of the Bay. Mike instilled the love of being on the water in the entire family. He always had music playing, from classical to opera to Sinatra to pop; the variety was vast and ever present. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always ready to have a great time. The Reagoso home and boat were always open to welcome friends and family for vacations, holiday parties and shenanigans. His children's friends, whose homes were often far away, were welcomed with open arms, giving them a sense of love and family while away from their own.

Mike was a dedicated husband, partner and caregiver to his wife of 61 years, Carol. Mike had a wonderful relationship with his in-laws, Dr. Kermit H. Lyman and Gertrude Lyman (née Kittilson). After Kermit passed, and Gertrude moved in with Mike and Carol toward the end of her life, she and Mike developed a special relationship. They would go for car rides and lunch together, and he would make her a Manhattan almost every evening before bed.

Mike was immensely proud of his two children and their spouses: Michael and Susan Reagoso and Lauren Reagoso and Michael Meadow, as well as his four grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Gray, and his niece, Elaine Gray. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Carol Reagoso (née Lyman); son Michael R. III (Susan); daughter Lauren (Michael Meadow); grandchildren Gabrielle (Jake Thomas), Chloe, Hawkin and Harper Reagoso; sister Sandra DeStefano (Robert); brother Anthony Reagoso (Victoria); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mike will be dearly missed by those who loved him and had the pleasure of being in his presence.

A service in Mike's memory will be held on August 3rd, 2025, at one o'clock pm at the Maryland Yacht Club, 1500 Fairview Beach Road Pasadena, MD 21122 410-255-4444.

Where did all the time go..... We had such good times at Howie´s 50th, at Allenberry and at the boat. I remember when we arrived at Georgetown Marina in our crazy boat Kickback; you opened your boat to us and your hearts. We became such good friends. The wonderful memories will stay with us forever. Thank you for your kindness, love and friendship. Mike will be missed by so many. Our love and thoughts to Carol and family. Barb and Howie Neilson.
