Robert Mark Brown

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend

Robert Mark Brown, 82, of Framingham, a long time resident of Wayland Mass. and Sarasota Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. He was born in New Haven, Connecticut to loving parents Bernard and Betty Brown and is survived by his brother Barry Brown, wife Susan and Son Xavier Brown.

Bob led a full and joyful life marked by deep devotion to family, kindness to all, and a generous spirit. A 1960 graduate of Framingham High School, he earned his Associates Degree in Business from Burdett College and went on to have a successful career as a senior buyer with the Zayre Corporation, where he worked in children's fashion and later household goods. After Zayre, Bob went on to a successful career as executive vice president of Alco Industries, where he mentored many people, and had lifelong friendships.

Bob was the beloved husband of the late Carole (Siegel) Brown, with whom he shared 50 wonderful years of marriage before her passing in 2015.

He is survived by his loving son Michael Brown and his wife Cindy Christo Brown of Sarasota Florida; adoring daughter Deena Phipps and her husband Daniel Phipps of Framingham, Massachusetts; and

most loyal, loving, pet companion Lilly Brown.

Bob was the proud grandfather of Michael and Ashley Hornberger, Melissa and Colin Benyo, and Gregory Christo, of Sarasota, Florida, and adoring great-grandfather to Sophia and Carter Hornberger, and Cameron Christo.

Bob's closest lifelong friend, Bruce Klein, and the entire Klein family held a special place in his heart. Bruce's wife Roberta, also a dear friend to Robert, recently passed away. He is fondly remembered by Jamey and M'Liss Klein and their children Olivia and Joseph of Framingham; Jeffrey Klein and sons Cameron and Jason Klein of Framingham; Jon Klein and his son Noah of Southborough;

and Josh Klein of Marlborough.

In 2021, Bob returned, with Lilly, to Massachusetts to reside with his daughter Deena and son-in-law Daniel, where they cared for him for over three years. During this time, he was happy and surrounded by family. In his final days, he received compassionate care at Mary Ann Morse Nursing Center in Natick.

Bob will be remembered for his warmth, musical spirit, easy laughter, and unconditional love. He was endlessly generous and forgiving, welcoming all with open arms. Above all, he was a good man-a devoted husband, a proud father, and a true friend.

His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be private.

Shiva calling hours will be at the Phipps residence on May 31 from 12-4pm

I only met Mr.Brown once or twice when Deena and I were in middle school and he was a super cool Dad in my eyes because he let Deena have the best parties in her basement! May his memory be for a blessing.

Michael, Deena and families, we have so many wonderful memories of spending time with Bobby and Carole and you many years ago. Mom and dad are together again where they should be. No pain or suffering just enjoying their afterlife together. May the wonderful memories you have with them live in your hearts forever.

Remembering the fun times I had as a kid hanging out at the Klein house with Bobby. He was always smiling and had an infectious laugh. What a great guy! The man left a positive impression on me- forever grateful!

Bob you are my best friend. Always will be in my heart and thought forever. I will miss your hugs and kisses. Where do I go when I need to be talked off the ledge, now? We had a special friendship with plenty of love, truthfulness, and there for one another,for many years and we were blessed for that. Have patience till Roberta, you and Carole and I are together again. I know you guys will be there like we always were. I love you my brother. Your memory lives on in my heart. I will miss you constantly and forever. Till the 4 of us are together again. I love you my best friend.
