Rodney Conrow Obituary
Rod was a graduate of the Roscoe School District and the NY Stenotype Institute. He began his career of 45 years as an Independent Court Reporter and worked in Courthouses and law offices throughout New York State, always enjoying the different challenges of each day and new friends and acquaintances he met along the way. He could brighten any room with his smile and quick humor.
Formerly a resident of Parksville, NY for many years, he became a snowbird and retired to SW Florida where he enjoyed years of boating, pickleball, antique car shows and good times with many friends. When in NY he attended as many of his grandchildren's sporting events as possible, never wanting to miss one.
Survivors include his life partner of 40 years, Loretta Duarte; his children, JC Conrow (Yvonne) of Delmar, NY, his daughter, Kasey Conrow Irlbacher (Christiaan) of Glen Spey, NY; his stepchildren, Steven Duarte (Jenel) of Parksville, NY, Stacey Duarte Cherven (Scott) of Mahwah, NJ, Keith Duarte (Jen) of Kerhonkson, NY; his grandchildren Kai Conrow, Mia Irlbacher; Lauren Cherven, Alexa Cherven, Sophia Duarte (Grandpa's Girls), Hunter Duarte and a niece, Cindy Conrow of Cooks Falls, NY.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Clayton (Tiny) Conrow, Jr., sister-in-law, Joan Conrow and an infant sister, Anita Conrow.
Memorial contributions in Rod's name may be made to Sullivan County SPCA, PO Box 995, Rock Hill, NY 12775 or St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place Memphis, TN.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 10 AM to 12 Noon in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY.
Graveside services and burial will immediately follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Liberty, NY.
