Walter Kuppens III Obituary

Walter Cornelius Kuppens III, 65, was born on April 25, 1959. He was born to Ernestine and Walter Cornelius Kuppens Jr. and was a long time resident of Oakdale, California. He passed away on November 13, 2024 in Fall River Mills, CA where he had lived the past three years of his life helping his niece Cindy and her husband Steve to restore an old run down lodge to the beauty of her past.

When he was young he worked in the mines, and then later went on to be a Carpenter, which he loved. He was a gifted craftsman, and there was almost nothing that he could not build or fix. With an unmatched work ethic and a steady hand, he built more than just houses and furniture - he built lasting relationships, imparting his knowledge and skills to all who worked alongside him.

Walters love for Carpentry was only rivaled by his love for the outdoors. Walter found peace in nature, whether it was hiking through the woods, enjoying a quiet moment by the lake, or tending to his garden. He was never without the company of his loyal dog, Sassy, who was his constant companion and friend.

He is survived by his sons, Walter C Kuppens IV and Jimmy Kuppens, his dog, Sassy, his three sisters, Sandy (Audie) Archer, Debbie (Ted) Noel, and Linda McCormack, and many nieces and nephews.

Kerr Mortuary in Alturas, CA is handling the arrangements. Walters's Celebration of Life will be Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 11am at Country Cowboy Church, in Sonora, CA.
