In Loving Memory of Jose Narciso González
Born: July 10, 1927
Passed: August 7, 2025
Age: 98
Jose Narciso González passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 7th, 2025, at the age of 98. He was a joyful, spirited, and deeply loving man whose presence lit up every room - especially with his music, his laughter, and his unmistakable sense of humor.
Born in the Dominican Republic, Jose was a brilliant and devoted teacher before moving to New York over 60 years ago. He worked hard to build a life for his family, dedicating himself to his job in hospitals for many years - over two decades at his last position - all while ensuring his loved ones could join him and thrive in the U.S.
Known for his love of singing, Jose would often wake his children up with his guitar in hand and a song on his lips, ready to take them to the beach or amusement parks, food already packed and smiles guaranteed. He had a special way of making life feel like a celebration.
He was also famous in the family for his love of dominos, his joyful dancing, and his signature "shooshing" sounds, always ending in a playful and loud "Ñelda!" Whether with his children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren, he brought laughter, music, and love into every moment. To us, he was El Mejor - "The Best."
Even in his final years living with dementia, Jose never forgot his favorite songs or the cherished memories with his children. He continued to sing, smile, and remind us all of the strong and loving man he had always been.
We are deeply grateful to God for the 98 wonderful years we had with him. His strength, humor, and enormous heart will forever remain with us. He leaves behind a legacy of love, music, joy, and devotion that will continue through his family for generations to come.
Our dad was a devoted Catholic with a strong belief who loved the Lord, with all his heart! Dad lived a Godly life always putting God first!
He truly was El Mejor - and always will be.
