Sheryl Denise Owens-Marchetta, 64, of Sneads, Florida, died Friday, September 5, 2025, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama, after a lifelong battle with Crohn's disease.
She was born in Virginia, but spent the majority of her life in Florida. She courageously fought Crohn's since she was 17 years old, but she did her best to not let that slow her down. She loved to travel with her family, which she got to do often as her parents were in the military. She made friends wherever she went and cherished her cross-country friendships. In 2000, she married Hank Marchetta, and they lived a wonderful life together in Winter Park, Florida, until his sudden passing in 2013.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hank Marchetta; and her father, William C. Owens.
Sheryl is survived by her loving mother, Edith McCallister Owens; oldest brother, Mike Owens; younger brother, Clay Owens and wife, Barbara.
Funeral services will be 2PM, Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at Circle Hill Church with Pastor John Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Owens Family Cemetery with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
The family will receive friends from 1PM until the time of service.
