Bryan Gayle Launius age 53 of Green Forest, AR went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at 1:31 am in Hot Springs, AR. Bryan was raised Baptist and is a member of Green Forest Church of Christ. He was born March 28, 1972 in Malvern, AR to Gary & Dianna Launius of Glen Rose.
Bryan had a deep love for the outdoors and all the adventures that came with it. As a kid, he ruled the woods with his Red Ryder BB gun. He grew up playing baseball, where he really shined as both a pitcher and a hitter. He was so talented that he even tried out for a major league baseball team. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, on road and off, cruising down the highway or tearing around a dirt track in motocross.
Fishing was one of his greatest joys. Bryan was an avid fisherman, always on the lookout for the next perfect spot to cast a line. Any body of water, no matter how small, intrigued him as a potential fishing location. He loved sharing this passion with others, teaching numerous people how to fish and instilling in them the same joy he found in the activity. Some of his happiest moments were spent on the water, particularly during his annual spring break fishing trip with his best friend, Eric Daniel. He loved to cook, and his mastery of fried catfish was key to winning over his wife, Allison, during their second date.
In 2014, Bryan met Allison and her son John and immediately knew his family was about to get bigger. They tied the knot in 2016. Bryan loved both Allison and John with a quiet intensity that was evident to everyone around them. He was extremely proud of his son and all that he has accomplished and was excited for what the future held for John. Bryan and Allison's love for one another served as an exemplary model of what love should be. He told his wife he loved her and how much he appreciated being in his life daily.
Above all, Bryan cherished his family. Family always came first for him. Christmas was his favorite holiday, largely because it meant spending quality time with his extended family, including aunts, uncles, and cousins. Sharing gifts and playing with his son, nieces, and nephews filled his heart with joy and brought a big smile to his face. He took immense pride in being a big brother to Chad and an uncle to Wesley and Olivia.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents C.E. "Pete" and Lois Herrington, paternal grandparents Melvin and Lois Launius, Uncles Raymond Herrington and Clifton Herrington.
He is survived by his parents, spouse Allison Launius, son John Launius, In-laws Jeffrey & Vickie Drain, brother Chad (Betsy) Launius, sister-in-law Heather (Joe) Murray, brother-in-law Stephen Drain, nephew Wesley Launius, niece Olivia Launius, Aunts and Uncles Johnny (Novilla) Harper, Gary (Kay) Matlock, & Merilyn Herrington.
When Bryan stepped from this world to the next, he did so surrounded by the love of his wife and family. They played his favorite music and shared stories about his life, celebrating all the joy he brought to others. Bryan had made it known that he wanted to be cremated, with his memorial stone placed at Cooper Cemetery.
