BETTY SHEPARD Obituary

BETTY SHEPARD Betty M. Shepard, 92, of Slater, died Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Big Bend Retreat in Slater. Graveside services will be Friday, May 9, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Slater City Cemetery, with William Vogl, Richard Vogl, Chris Shepard, and Aaron Shepard serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 10:45 A.M. Friday at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Slater, or Big Bend Retreat in care of the funeral home. Born July 27, 1932 in Carrollton, she was the daughter of the late Harley J. and Cleo Brunson Anderson. She was married to Richard D. Shepard, and George Cunningham, whom both preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Harley E. Shepard and his wife Martha of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Richard L. Shepard and his wife Patricia of Frisco, Texas; a daughter Sherry Lee Vogl of rural Marshall; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother; and two sisters. Mrs. Shepard was a member of the First Baptist Church of Slater, and was a teller for eighteen years at the State Bank of Slater.
