Sharon Rumbaugh Bryson Obituary

Sharon Marie Rumbaugh Bryson, 71, passed away on Sunday, March 23rd, 2025. Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, April 10th, 2025 at 1 pm at Levelland Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Sharon Marie Rumbaugh Bryson was born on September 7, 1953 in Levelland, Texas to Raymond and Janie Rumbaugh. She was the younger sister to Dianna Rumbaugh Vick. She graduated from Levelland High School with her career in cosmetology already thriving.

Then in 1973 she met Gary Dean Bryson. Her life as a wife began on November 21, 1975. For nearly 50 years they made their lives together based on faith, love, and respect. Their marriage stands as an example to all that know them.

In 1979 they welcomed their first daughter, Jennifer Leigh Bryson, and in 1981 their second daughter, Amber Nichole Bryson Cage. She supported her daughters in their school activities even serving as a tutor when necessary. She was a determined lady that always wanted the best for her family. She took great pride in raising her daughters and multiple other kids that passed through her doors that called her Mom. She and Dean had a house full of kids most of the time, and she adored the chance to have a positive impact on as many as she possibly could. After retiring she dedicated her life to being a true homemaker. She cooked, cleaned, and made a house a home.

Then in 2006 her entire life changed; she became a Nana to one most special young man, Blakely Reese Bryson Cage. Nana was the most cherished title she ever had. With Blake she spent hours playing, laughing, and loving this precious child. He unlocked her imagination, and together there were train tracks stretching throughout the house, forts made of blankets, and potions made to save the world.

In 2014 Autumn Faith Cage added to the joy of being a Nana. Then there were babies that needed diapering, makeup that needed application, and cookies that needed baking.

2015 welcomed Adleigh Grace Cage to the growing Nana Kingdom. Adleigh brought with her a need for knowledge. Why, was the leading word to almost every statement. She liked sports from an early age, but still liked her dolls too. She was the total package. Nana didn’t make it to as many games as she would have liked, but when she did she talked about her ball player. There was great pride in her voice, and at times tears of happiness as she tried to describe the games she had just watched. Nana, like her Mom and Dad became Nana to more than just her three grandchildren. Taylor, Chris, Madison, Cody, and Elizabeth rounded out a few of her other grandchildren.

They say a life well lived is one that is remembered six weeks after you leave this world. If this is true Nana’s legacy is cemented in the hearts and minds of all those she loved especially her grandkids. She left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on March 23, 2025 at home surrounded by her family in a dignified and peaceful manner. Now she lives eternally in Heaven waiting for her family and friends to join her in paradise.

She is preceded in death by her parents Raymond Rumbaugh and Janie Aken Rumbaugh.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband Gary Dean Bryson, her daughters Jennifer Bryson (Don. Johnson) and Amber Bryson-Cage (Brandon), her son Jamie Chavez (Kara), her sister Dianna Rumbaugh Vick, her grandchildren blake Cage, Autumn Cage, Adleigh Cage, Taylor Mulkey, Chris Chavez, Madison Chavez, Cody Johnson, and Elizabeth Johnson, her nieces Amy Sawyer, Ashley Sawyer, Morgan Sawyer, Mistie Smith, and Kelsie Beard, her nephews Kerby Sawyer, Keith Sawyer, Kaiden Sawyer, Brad Smith and Kyler Smith, and a host of other relatives and friends.
