Dale 'Sulo' Richard Kangas

Dale "Sulo" Richard Kangas, 81, of Eveleth, died Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Essentia Health-Virginia.

A lifelong Eveleth resident, Dale was born on September 29, 1943, to George and Aili (Eskola) Kangas. He attended grade school through Junior College in Eveleth.

Dale was united in marriage to Rosemary (Bernard) Josephson on November 25, 1978, in Eveleth. They were happily married until her death in 2016. Dale worked as a lineman for CN Railroad, retiring in 2007. He and Rose enjoyed spending winters in Mission, Texas, until her passing. Dale enjoyed spending time with his family and conversing with the "Coffee Club" gang every morning at Eggy's Red Garter. He will be missed by family and friends.

He is survived by his stepchildren, Michael (Barbara Schmidt) Josephson, Cathy (John) Rinne, Eric (Gina Trucano) Josephson; step grandchildren, Zachary Rinne, Emily (Aaron) Loken, Dante Josephson along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosemary; six brothers and sisters, Charles (Lillian), Leroy (Annie), Donald (Kathy), Gordon (Marjorie), June (Harry) Flannigan and Arlene (Melvin) Selin.

There will be a private graveside burial at a later date.
