Samuel Hathy III Obituary

My name is Sergio and I´m from Spain. Mary and Sam host me as an exchange student in 1991.
Over time we lost contact, but I never forgot them.
I would like to get in touch with the family again, and while searching for information online I discovered that Samuel has passed away.

I am so saddened bythis news. While I didnt know you personally, I had the honor of being a patient for many years. Your compassion and kindness were unsurpassed and I am comforted by knowing you are out of pain and in our heavenly father's arms. I will miss you dearly and there will not be another like you. My prayers and condolences to Mary and Sara and brothers. InFocus just informed me of Samuel’s passing. It is with sadness to hear this, as having moved to Mandarin in 1994 with Gary and Samuel providing eye care to my family. I pray for The Lords comfort for you.

As one of his patients, I will sincerely miss him. His gentle demeanour, complemented by traditional values such as honesty and integrity, will be profoundly missed. I extend my condolences to his friends and family.

I just found out that Dr. Hathy passed away. I am saddened by this news as I just saw him in January. He spoke so highly of his family! Much love to all! He will be greatly missed!!!!

I was so surprised to hear of Sam´s passing tonight! I first met him when our daughters did Indian Princesses together, and he became my optometrist once I needed glasses. He was always so kind and friendly and will be so greatly missed. May the Lord grant you His comfort and peace, may fond memories and the prayers of others sustain you, and may Sam rest in eternal peace. My prayers are with you all during this time of great loss!

Dr Sam Hathy was a great man, husband, father, grandfather, friend and neighbor. Our family had the privilege to be next door neighbors for many years on Mallard Landing Drive. Their children and ours were close friends all through high school and remain friends today. We loved the Florida vs Georgia weekend for only one reason: Sam's wonderful shrimp & grits. He was a remarkable eye doctor and an even better friend. Love and Prayers to Mary and the family... the McNeil family will always keep the Hathy's near and dear to our hearts!

As patients of Dr hathy my wife and I for over 20 years he was the greatest if there was an emergency between us he was always there I know his son would take him deep sea fishing that was one of his greatest pastimes that I know of because you could see his eyes light up when he would always talk about his son taking him we will thoroughly miss him as he was always there for us and many others cuz he treated everybody Fair my condolences goes to his family I know they're devastated now his back won't bother him no more I know he's sitting in that fishing chair right now

I haven´t talked to Sam in years, but we had some great times together as roommates in Charleston, SC and as shipmates at Charleston Naval Regional Medical Center. Moe and I passed responsibility for Sam on to Mary at their wedding. Mary, I am so sorry for your loss. Sam was a special soul. Sending prayers of peace and comfort for you and your family.
