Carol Kottsick, age 88, of Onamia, MN passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025. A Funeral Service was held at 11 AM on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Onamia, MN, with Pastor Rick Gabriel officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the Funeral Service at Bethany Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Onamia. Arrangements are with the LeMieur Funeral Home in Onamia.
Carol was born December 18, 1936, in Minot, North Dakota, to Jonas and Mabel Wold. She graduated from Minot High School in 1954 and was united in marriage to Quentin Alvin Kottsick on December 18, 1955, in Minot, North Dakota. In the summer of 1960, they moved to Middle River, MN where Carol was busy being a stay-at-home mom to their three children.
In 1965, they moved to Onamia, where Carol began working for Onamia Hospital for many years as an Accredited Medical Transcriptionist and later as a PARA working with ECFE children at Onamia Elementary School. In her spare time, Carol spent many hours sewing, quilting, crocheting doilies, knitting, and making handmade wooden Christmas ornaments. Her crafting skills have been enjoyed by many people in the Onamia and surrounding areas. Many family members and community members still hang their lovingly knit Christmas stockings every year that were made by Carol. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning their garden vegetables every fall. Her canned dill pickles were the best! She also loved to read and would read many, many books every year, keeping track of them in a spiral notebook.
She was a talented, loving, kind, and gentle soul.
Carol is lovingly remembered by her children; son, Greg Kottsick (Anita) of Eureka, SD; daughter, Pam (Tim) Stout of Hillman, MN; and daughter, Pat (Joe) Purnick of Crystal, MN. She had a special relationship with each of her grandchildren, Joslyn, Jill, Caleb, Jessica, and Jake. Her great-grandchildren: Tony, Madison, Madelyn, Brady, Alex, Aidan, Isabella, Dylan, Braydon, Grayson and Asher also brought her much joy. Blessed be her memory.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Jonas and Mabel and her loving, devoted husband Quentin.
