Lee DeFoe Obituary

Niizho-binesi, Lee DeFoe, Jr., passed away on July 18, 2025. A visitation held at 8 PM on Monday, July 21, 2025, at the Baadwewidang District 1 Community Center on the Mille Lacs Reservation. A Funeral Ceremony held at 10 AM on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the Baadwewidang District 1 Community Center on the Mille Lacs Reservation with Baabiitaw officiating. Interment will be in the Vineland Burial Grounds. Arrangements are with the LeMieur Funeral Home in Onamia.

Lee was born on February 18, 1985, in Robbinsdale, MN, to Theresa Edgington and Lee DeFoe, Sr. He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking and hunting, and always had a dog by his side. Lee was mindful of his culture and respectful to nature. He loved sitting around the fire, having a good party, and enjoying a fine cigar. Lee liked to spend his time with family, laughing, telling jokes, and listening to his music.

Lee is survived by his children, Sylas Deleon-DeFoe, Myah Nickaboine, Maci Nickaboine, Kali DeFoe, Harley DeFoe; significant other, Heather Deegan; parents, Theresa Edgington and Lee DeFoe, Sr.; stepfather, Les Miller; grandmother, Elisse Aune; Siblings, Amy Miller, Andrea Miller, Marcus St. John, Danielle Edgington, Elizabeth St. John, Lee St. John, Edward DeFoe, Keith DeFoe, Xavier DeFoe, Zayla DeFoe, Zahriah DeFoe; and many loving relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph Edgington, Sr., Edward DeFoe, Josie DeFoe, Michael Pindegayosh, Theresa Pindegayosh; and his uncle, Troy Edgington.
