Cynthia Boon Obituary
She was born on March 12, 1952 in Fort Madison to E.R. "Tex" and Shirley Goss Hay. Cindy married Daniel J. Boon on Oct. 8, 1977 in Fort Madison. She worked as a florist at Ritter's Greenhouse and Hy-Vee Floral. Cindy was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Montrose. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, fishing and spending time with her dogs. She and Dan hosted several foreign exchange students and were also foster parents.
Survivors include her husband, Dan Boon of Fort Madison; two sons, Matthew Boon of Fort Madison and Brian (Jessie) Boon and their daughter, Elizabeth Boon of Jewell; half-sister, Steffany Turner Williams of Iowa City; sisters in law, Lori Hay, Debbie Hay, Jan Hay; brother-in-law, Robert Boon; aunts, Pat Goss and Ruth Goss; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Terry, Thad, Doug and Stephen Hay.
Per her wishes, her body has been donated to the University of Iowa Deeded Body Program. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 4-6 p.m. at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. The memorial service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 11 a.m. at River Bend Kingdom Hall, 929 Main Street, Montrose, with Ronald Fish officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Fort Madison Food Pantry and the Bloodhound Music Boosters and online condolences may be left at www.kinglynk.com.
