Larry Dean Foulk Sr. age 85 of Tennessee (Ill.), passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at the Elms Nursing Home in Macomb. He was born Oct. 11, 1939, in Cuba, to Russell and Irene Boyd Foulk. Larry was united in marriage to Dea Nellenback for 21 years. He was then united in marriage to Sharon Riser for 30 years. They both preceded him in death, along with one daughter: Laurie Foulk, two brothers: Sheldon Foulk Sr., Richard Foulk, and ine sister: Susan Voight, along with his special Schnauzer, Snoopy.
Surviving to mourn his passing are two sons: Larry (Michelle) Foulk Jr., Carthage, Joseph (Linda) Dillard, Rock Island, two daughters: Tammy (William) Baer, Macomb, Sheri (Tom) Porter, Colchester, eight grandchildren: Robin (Sean) Eifert, Ryan (Lisa) Porter, Raymond (Kristina) Hayes, Dustin (Judy) Foulk, Miranda McCoy, Blaize (Jessica) Foulk, Kyle Herriman, David Miller, 17 great-grandchildren with two on the way later this year, two sisters: Alta Pollock, Fandon, Rose (Syd) Clausen, Colchester, along with many nieces and nephews.
Larry proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1957 to 1960. He retired from NTN Bowers after 32 years. In his retirement he worked at Argyle Lake State Park for the grounds department. He and his wife Sharon also were the host campers registering campers for many years at Argyle. He was a member of the American Legion. He had been a Cub and Boy Scout leader, summer little league baseball coach. Larry always had a large garden then loved to can what he grew. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears Fan. Larry and Sharon loved to travel when they had the time. Most of all Larry loved his family and was very proud of them.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, at the Jones Funeral Chapel in Colchester, with Pastor Jason Hamm. Burial will follow the services at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Colchester, with the Macomb V.F.W. and Macomb American Legion conducting military rites. Visitation with the family will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at the Jones Funeral Chapel in Colchester. Friends may view and sign the register book at the funeral home from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday. Memorial is to the McDonough County Animal Shelter.
