Sharon Hayes Obituary
She was born on April 13, 1944, in Keokuk, to Delbert and Juanita Blakeslee Kemper. She married Carl M. Hayes on Oct. 5, 1962 in Montrose. She was a school bus driver for 25 years for the Central Lee School District and a co-owner and operator of Carl Hayes Welding. She was a member of Living Hope Church of the Nazarene in Fort Madison and enjoyed taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by: Her husband, Carl Hayes of Donnellson; four children: Debbie (Terry) Schrader of Donnellson, Peggy (Dee) Hudson of Flossmoor, Ill., Jim (Theresa) Hayes of Fort Madison and Mike Hayes of Fort Madison; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two on the way; three sisters: Juanita Wells of Donnellson, Vi Howell of Yellville, Ark. and Connie (Delbert) Kramer of Franklin; and one brother, John (Linda) Kemper of Montrose.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Bill, Delbert, Margie and Patty.
A visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. She will be cremated following the visitation. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Preston Smith officiating. Burial will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Fort Madison. A memorial has been established for the Living Hope Church of the Nazarene.
