Edward Gangl Obituary

Edward "Eddie" P. Gangl, 82-year-old resident of Pierz, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Brainerd, Minnesota.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, Minnesota with Father Aaron Nett officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 P.M. on Monday, July 14, 2025 at the LeMieur Funeral Home in Little Falls, Minnesota and from 9:30-11:00 A.M. on Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN. Caring for Eddie and his family is the LeMieur Funeral Home in Little Falls, Minnesota.

Edward was born on December 8, 1942, in Little Falls, Minnesota, to the late Paul and Evelyn (Gruber) Gangl. He grew up on the family farm in Little Rock, Minnesota, and graduated with the Class of 1960 from Pierz Memorial High School. On June 30, 1962, Edward was united in marriage to Carolyn Otremba at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman, Minnesota. The couple began their married life in Little Falls and later moved to Pierz after the birth of their second son. Together, Edward and Carolyn built a life rooted in hard work, faith, and community. They owned and operated several businesses over the years, including the Pierz Cafe, G&F Sales, G&G Sales, and finally Eddie's Auto Mart and Wrecker Service. Even after retiring, Edward continued working part-time at Brandl Motors, always staying active and connected. Edward had a gift for conversation and never missed an opportunity to visit with others. He and Carolyn enjoyed many memorable trips to Branson, Missouri, and casino adventures with a close-knit group of friends. Above all, Edward cherished the time spent with his family and friends, which brought him the greatest joy.

Edward is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carolyn Gangl of Pierz; sons, Paul (Denise) Gangl of Lakeville, MN, Brian (Lori) Gangl of Pierz, MN, Mark Gangl of Pierz, MN and Wayne (Tammie Graupmann) Gangl of South Haven, MN; sister, Judy (Steve) Ringeisen of Sauk Rapids, MN; 10 grandchildren, Christopher, Candice, Brandon, Bradley, Nicholas, Cole, Evan, Nathan, Matthew, and Megan and nine great-grandchildren, Landon, Brinley, James, Adeline, Willa, Emery, Sophia, Blaklynn, and Brooks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Evelyn Gangl; brother, Gordy Gangl; daughter-in-law, Colette Gangl; and his parents-in-law, Henry and Helen Otremba.
