CLARIDON - Helen V. Denton, 105, of Claridon, died on October 7, 2025, at the Primrose Retirement Community.
Born on September 25, 1920, in Morrow County, OH, one of three daughters of the late Charles C. and Jennie "Mae" (Garverick) Haldeman. She graduated from Johnsville High School and from Mansfield Business College. In May of 1941, Helen married Richard G. Levering, and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1943.
On March 14, 1952, she married Herman W. Denton, and they made their home in Claridon. He preceded her in death on December 24, 2014.
Helen was a loving homemaker, and later she worked for Elmer Wiemer's Insurance Agency. She also was a 73-year member of the Marion Salem United Methodist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her three sons: Rex R. (Janet) Levering, Dr. Max L. Denton, and Bryan G. (Doug Brown) Denton; three grandchildren: R. Richard Levering II, Dr. Coleen (Dr. Timothy Prater) Denton-Prater, and Ryan J. (Tiffany) Denton; five great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Cecil Denton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Kathleen Mary (Burris) Denton; two sisters and two brothers-in-law: Ivah (Dale) Perry and Lois (Francis) Fairchild; and by her brothers and sisters-in-law on the Denton side of the family: Ernie (Wilma) Denton, Carl (Alberta) Denton, Lowell (Eunice) Denton, Chuck (Erma) Denton, Lois Denton, and Jim (Eleanor) Heiser.
