William Grimball Obituary

I Am at Peace I have not left you, I am just away. I'm with the Lord in His bright day. Don't weep for me or cry in sorrow. We'll meet again in God's tomorrow. William "Clarence" Grimball , a beloved father, brother, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025 at the age of 88. Born and raised on Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina, Clarence was known for his warm spirit, quiet strength, and deep-rooted faith. He received his early education through the South Carolina Public School System and later moved to New York City in his youth. After many meaningful years there, he returned home to Charleston, where he embraced retirement surrounded by family and friends. Clarence found a new spiritual home at Graham AME Church, where he served faithfully and held office within the congregation. He continued to live a life guided by faith, humility, and kindness, attending church until his health no longer allowed. He is survived by his many members, who carry forward his legacy of strength, love, and grace. Clarence touched the lives of many, and his memory will be cherished always. The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 11am, Saturday, July 26,2025 at Graham AME Church, 1124 Wappoo Road, Charleston, SC. Expressions of Sympathy Messages of condolence and support may be shared on this page or sent directly to the family. Floral arrangements and donations may be made to the Grimball family or Graham AME Church in Clarence's memory.
