Jay Warren Obituary

Jay Will Warren
08/31/1957 - 07/14/2025
Jay Will Warren, of Midland, Texas, went to be with the Lord on July 14, 2025. A visitation will be held at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory in Midland on Sunday, July 20, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Services will be held in the Chapel of First Baptist Church of Midland at 10:00 am on Monday, July 21, 2025. Interment will be at the Ellis Resthaven Memorial Park at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.
Jay was born on August 31, 1957 in Comanche, Texas to J. W. (Jake) Warren and Sarah Voncyle Carnes (Vonnie) Warren. Jay's family moved to Midland when he was 5 years old and he has proudly called it home ever since. He has made so many cherished friendships along the way, especially from his years employed at Gibson's, American Wine, KCRS Radio, and lastly from his 30-year career at the American Classifieds Thrifty Nickel as General Manager.
Jay is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jake and Vonnie Warren, and by an infant sister Lou Ann Warren. He is survived by those he cherished most of all, being his sons Waylon Coe Warren and Jayden Autry Warren, and his grandson Cavanaugh James Warren, all of Midland, Texas. He is also survived by his sister Candy Warren Belcik and her sons Clay Tarter and Kyle Tarter. Also surviving him are many cousins and their families, who he claimed were all his favorites, and by many lifelong friends who he considered family.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude towards all those who loved Jay so well, and especially towards those who cared for him and his family during the latter years. He was brave and courageous beyond measure and his drive was fueled by the love and prayers you all shared. The family would like to give a special mention of gratitude to dear friends Dr. Manmeet Mangat of Texas Oncology; Dr. Edward Maurice Lopez; Senior Pastor Dr. Darin Wood of First Baptist Church of Midland; and Mindy Warren of Midland. While we deeply grieve Jay's absence on earth, he is present with the Lord, healed forevermore. Let us rejoice.
He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."
- Revelation 21:4-5
