Shelly Rector Obituary

Shelly Yvette Jarrell Rector, age 50 of Ennice, NC passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024 at her residence. She was born October 29, 1973 to Roger Earl and Carol Marsh Jarrell. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Sandra Owen Rector; paternal grandparents, Earlie and Lois Parker Jarrell; maternal grandparents, M.C. and Eva Burnette Marsh; one aunt, Brenda Jarrell Goodnight. Shelly was a teacher for 28 years. She had a bachelor's degree from Appalachian State University. She was an active member of New Covenant Church and taught children's church. Shelly was an alumni at Surry community College. She is survived by her husband, Brian Rector of the home; two sons, Aaron Tate Rector and wife Kendra of Baywood, VA., Austin Keith Rector and wife Jennifer of Ennice; four grandchildren, Kenley Rector, Fisher Rector, Dustin Rector, Colton Rector; parents, Roger and Carol Jarrell of Mt Airy; twin sister, Kelly Jarrell Mabe and husband Brian of Claudeville, VA; two aunts, Loretta Jarrell Martin and husband Rev. Jim Martin of Yadkinville, Gail Hiatt and husband Kenny of Cana VA; four brothers-in-laws, Ray Rector and wife Lorrie of Fairview, VA, Donnie Rector and wife Lisa of Sparta, Eric Rector of Ennice, Randy Rector and wife Melissa of Sparta; three uncles, Don Marsh and special friend Barbara McMillan, Dale Marsh and wife Linda of Cana, VA, Jim Goodnight of Beulaville; special friend, Pam Hart; several cousins, church family and school family also survive. The family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to honor the life of Shelly at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2024 at New Covenant Church with Pastor Phil Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the time of the service at the church.
